Rates, Reservations & Occupancy

Q. How do I make a reservation?

Please contact Loon Lodge via email to inquire about availability and to make reservations.

 

Q. What are the rental rates?

Please contact the property manager for details based on seasonal availability and length of visit.

 

Q. What form of payment is accepted?

Cash, cashiers checks, and Venmo are accepted. Credit cards are not accepted.

 

Q. How much is the security deposit, and is the security deposit refundable?

The security deposit is $500, and the security deposit is refundable after your stay is completed and an inspection shows the property is returned to a clean rental state with no damage.

 

Q. Can I change my reservation?

Requests for an alternative rental period will be considered based on availability.

 

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

Greater than 30 days: You can move your reservation to any other open slot in that calendar year (if no alternate selection is chosen, the deposit is forfeited).

Less than 30 days: No deposit refund.

 

Q. What is the check-in/check-out process?

Check in is at 4pm. Please alert the property manager of your approximate arrival time, so she can be there to greet you and familiarize you with Loon Lodge features and amenities. Check out is 11am.

 

Q. When is Loon Lodge available for rental?

Rentals are available from April to October. Weekly rentals only from June through August.  During the offseason rentals are at owners' discretion.

 

Q. What is Loon Lodge occupancy?

Loon Lodge has a maximum occupancy of 10.   The cottage accommodates 6 people in the upper level and 4 people in the lower level.

 

Q. What do we need to bring?

Loon Lodge is a fully furnished cottage with all the amenities of home. The kitchen is outfitted with plates, dishes, cutlery, utensils and pots and pans. Bed linens and a supply of bath towels are provided. Please supply your own:

• beach towels

• life jackets & water toys

• charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill

• paper towels, paper plates and plastic ware

• laundry soap for the washing machine

• soap and shampoo

 

The Grounds at Loon Lodge

There are two houses on this 12 acre property, the owner's home and the rental cottage.  The owners may or may not be there during your stay. Regardless, you are assured of your privacy.  Please note that while you are welcome to use the grassy area on top of the hill for playing frisbee, soccer, football, etc. please do not park on the owner's side of the property.

Q. Is there a boat landing?

Yes. The public access is just a mile away from Loon Lodge on the north east side of the lake. Please make sure you check your boat and remove any aquatic hitchhikers when launching and removing your boat!

 

Q. Where do I keep my boat?

Loon Lodge has a lengthy dock with an L at the end, which is the perfect place to moor your boat. Please also note there are 2 docks on the property and you are welcome to use both docks. However, you may only moor your boat on the dock at the main beach.

Q:  Where should we park our car(s)?

There are parking spots indicated by log stops in front of the cottage next to the small tool shed.  Please use these parking spots only for your car.  If additional space is required, you can park a car or a car with a boat trailer behind the Bunk House. Please Do Not park on the owner's side of the property or on the large grassy area.  

 

Q. Do you allow pets?

Pets are allowed only with prior approval, and are subject to additional cleaning fees and deposit.

 

Q. What is your smoking policy?

Loon Lodge is a smoke-free facility. No smoking is allowed inside the cottage. Smoking is permitted outside, provided that you use an ashtray or some other fireproof receptacle to dispose of cigarettes. We are extremely sensitive to the potential of forest fires, which can be accidentally caused by cigarettes. If you do smoke, PLEASE make sure to completely extinguish your cigarettes and dispose of them properly.

 

Q. Do you have a fire pit?

Yes, there is a fire pit at Loon Lodge. No vacation at the lake is complete without a bonfire to make s'mores in the evening! However, due to varying seasonal fire conditions, please consult owner ahead of time. If conditions permit a bonfire, firewood can be purchased locally at many locations in Crosslake and Emily.

 

Q. Where do I put garbage?

Garbage bags are provided, and trash is collected every week. Collection days vary each year; you will be advised prior to your stay which day trash is picked up.  Trash is collected very early, so please take your trash to the garbage can, located at the end of the driveway, THE EVENING BEFORE TRASH PICKUP.  *IMPORTANT: BE SURE TO SECURE THE LID OF THE TRASH BIN TO PREVENT BEARS AND OTHER CREATURES FROM DUMPING OUT THE TRASH.

 

Q. Do you recycle?

We strongly encourage you to recycle. Unfortunately, there is no recycling pick up. There are local recycling drop offs available, and you will be advised of which municipalities recycle, which change yearly. Or, you can take your recycling home. Please do not dispose of cans, bottles and paper in the trash. 

 

Q. How can I be reached at Loon Lodge?

Loon Lodge has a phone for 911 calls only, since most people use cell phones for communication. Cell reception inside Loon Lodge can be spotty. However, by walking out on the deck, one can generally get good cell reception.

 

Q. Do you have internet access?

Yes, Loon Lodge offers free high speed WiFi.
